          It is always important to listen to your body. Do not use a yoni egg during pregnancy, menstruation, infection, or if you are feeling discomfort. Begin slowly, and allow your practice to evolve gently over time.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Yoni steaming &amp;amp; yoni eggs can be an incredibly powerful experience for the body especially for the first time, sometimes somatic emotional releases may arise that last up to 3-5 days after your practice. We recommend you stay aware, and if any emotions do arise(sometimes without triggers or logical understanding), to take your time to slowly integrate by being gentle with yourself. Journaling or talking to someone you trust may be helpful to help you through any deep releasing emotions.

          I believe in the power of connecting with our womb, our Yoni, our sacred space! I believe that when we connect with the mother-earth inside of us, we can connect with everything! And this is what Yoni steams brings to my life, so I want to share this with the world.

          Today ladies, I thought it would be useful to break down a few essential books that I find as a yoni steaming practitioner is so worth the read!
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          As a practitioner in yoni steaming, I've taken it upon myself to learn about the female body and dive into depth on some of the topics through immense self-study and as a means to understand why so many women (including myself) struggle to find the right balance in life. I had previously suffered with all sorts of hormonal issues and did a lot of investigating to find some of the best natural remedies and alternatives as the traditional medical system would only offer me so much and often felt not seen or heard for a lot of symptoms I was experiencing until the imbalances came out a little too late. 
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Knowledge is power, the more we educate ourselves on our bodies, even through the transformations and transitions in our lives, the better we as women may learn to operate in a way that honours our hormones and natural rhythms in our daily lives. Opening up the conversations about some of the concepts and tools I've also learnt throughout the years constantly come up in my consultations. This has time and time again brought many of my clients a lot of freedom and success in the home space, work space and ultimately has lead to better mental &amp;amp; physical health in so many women. Along with sharing the ancient wisdom of Yoni Steaming, I've had a few clients ask me to draw up so many little charts along with tips for food, exercise and lifestyle choices. Most of my clients have been eager to further educate themselves on their bodies and how to best make use of their cycles to benefit them rather than inflict more imbalance in their lives. So I thought a blog like this would be rather handy and useful to have access too and to provide a bit more than I can squeeze in a 30 min consultation.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Let's be clear and honest, it is NOT our fault that we do not have an intimate understanding of our own bodies, we were just never taught on how the female body has different requirements and needs as opposed to male bodies.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
          Some of the most misunderstood knowledge I see in women is;
          &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          - Our cycles end when our menstrual bleeding stops - which is actually not the case! Our bodies, post-menopause, after hysterectomies (etc) still work off a 28-33 day hormonal cycle, and speaks directly to our brain altering our brain chemistry throughout different phases of the cycle.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          - That the contraceptive pill has no long-term side effects, which is absolutely can have and often see women with many adverse side-effects even coming off hormonal contraception
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          - All periods are painful and something we have to fear and 'suck it up' when it kicks in, which may be common, but absolutely is NOT normal. We are meant to thrive no matter the time of month!
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

          Another favourite of mine personally, (I even have this book in my yoni steaming room!) - This one is so powerful in understanding your body with real tools to implement for more self-love, confidence in your relationships and harnessing vulnerability as a power for deeper levels of intimacy. It's essential to learn better strategies to navigate our relationships, learn more about ourselves on a deep and intimate level so that we can step into our full feminine power. Whether you're in a relationship or not, it all starts with the relationship we have to ourselves.

It shares mythology, traditional stories and introduces practical methods and tools to explore the depths of ourselves and our deep connection to nature and our families, which is rather quite beautiful.

          This book is for women trying to conceive or currently pregnant. Now, I help plenty of women to increase their fertility however yoni steaming is not designed for pregnancy as it may cause harm, particularly in the first trimester. This book is the 'Inner Journey of Pregnancy, Preparation for Natural Birth' the author is a homebirth midwife, mother and grandmother. We love wise women passing down their wisdom! So this book gives the power back to women during the birthing of their children, allowing us to feel into the realm of feminine strength and the spiritual essence of birth.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

          These few books can honestly be life-changing and are quite instrumental in learning about ourselves in both spiritual and physical ways.           Yoni steaming does have possible side effects for some women and there are some women who shouldn't steam, particularly if they are on certain medications. Do not steam at home if you're unsure of the possible risks and are on birth control, medications or even drink alcohol regularly! There are certain herbs that conflict with these substances in your body, and we want to support you—not make things worse.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Those who should not steam include:
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
           Pregnant women (the clearing-out effect can sometimes lead to miscarriage in early pregnancy)
          &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
           Menstruating women (can cause heavier flow and dehydration)
          &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
           Women with their tubes tied (cleansing of your reproductive system and scar tissue can make you fertile again)

           Women with infections characterised by a 'burning itch' (steaming can cause heating effects if this is the case)

           Women whose menstrual cycles last less than 27 days
          &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Women who experience hot flashes or night sweats
          &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

          If none of the above affects you, then steaming is generally safe. We do recommend you book a mini consultation before steaming at home to ensure you are educated in best practice and get the most benefit out of your steam.

          Before your session starts, you can expect a one-on-one conversation with me where we discuss your body, your current mental state, what to expect and what we will be doing to work around your body for maximum benefit! From there, you will get changed into one of our 100% organic cotton gowns that we have specifically made for steaming where you will feel comfortable and covered before starting the session. 
         &#xD;

          The beautiful room is to be kept as a space of relaxation and self-love, to make you feel like the queen you are during your steam. Picture Himalayan salt lamps, beautiful crystals, oil diffusers with essential oils—you know, all the good stuff!
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          You will be seated on a chair that allows for steaming where your gown covers and allows the steam to flow inside. We can play healing sound frequencies, rainforest sounds, or even a guided meditation if that's what you feel for the day. You will generally spend between 10-30 minutes, depending on the type of steam your body needs and can handle (which we will determine in our initial consultation). Herbs infused in the steaming bowl are customised around you, your body and to support you both physically and mentally, some would even say this as a spiritual practice—it's THAT powerful!
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

          You will be tended to with a selection of filtered water or organic herbal teas to keep your hydration levels up during the steam. At the end of the practice, we will give you some lifestyle advice to maximise the steam benefits over the next one to three days, which helps to support your body and bring you into greater balance (who wouldn't love that?!).

          How I teach my clients to do this from home:
         &#xD;

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

          Go to the kitchen and see if you can find a bowl or a pot that is made of either ceramic or glass. Take that with you.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Next, go to the fridge and look for any bought bottles of filtered water or spring water (even better). Grab enough for about two cups.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          If you have the above, this means you CAN STEAM FROM HOME!
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Then, I want you to take that glass or ceramic bowl/pot into the bathroom with you and plonk it sitting in the toilet (so if you dropped something it would fall in the pot).
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Find at least one large towel and one warm but thin blanket.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Bring in any lighting, candles, crystals, a book, speakers for music or meditation and create a comfortable and sacred space for your very first practice. Personalise it around you! Do what I do and envision yourself as a goddess receiving ancient wisdom through this practice.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Put away the devices, such as phones, TVs and laptops, and limit any other distractions, such as work and kids, and really allow this to be a personal experience. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH—this practice works best when you tune into the sensations and sensitivities of your body.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Boil the filtered/spring water and wrap the towels around the toilet seat so it's comfy for you to be seated without feeling too cold, and so you feel comfortable sitting there for a long period of time.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Take off your clothes and wrap that beautiful blanket around you. Once the kettle is boiled, take it and pour it in the bowl that's seated inside of the toilet bowl. You actually don't need to steam with herbs to feel the benefits of yoni steaming, it does help and target specific ailments, imbalances, spiritual goals and such, but you still benefit in most ways with pure good-quality water in steaming. I even prefer this than you buying and using the wrong herbs.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          If you have a herb blend, this is where you add the herbs. If you're not purchasing them from us, please ensure they are organic, with no more than eight herbs in the blend altogether—it's a matter of PH! Let it steep for a minute or so, then sit on the toilet and keep the blanket wrapped around you, with the steam going into your lady (or man) bits.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          If you find it's too hot (you'll know straight away!) just stand back up and sit back down in ten-second increments. There's no right or wrong temperature here, this is a mild steam because you're not using a heating element to sustain the heat (traditional steam). Just ensure you don't burn but keep a bit of warmth that's comfortable.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          AND THAT'S IT—you're steaming! 
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
          Remember, for your first-time steaming, you must only go for a maximum of 10-15 minutes.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
